If you’re looking for a place to explore honest truth about God and learn how to connect it to everyday life, we think you’ll feel at home at EBC. Maybe the whole “church thing” is new to you. If you’re just exploring the possibility, we hope you’ll feel very comfortable with us, to do that. We are simply a group of learners, with a goal to know the difference Jesus Christ can make in our daily lives.
Sunday Morning FAQ
Going someplace new can be a bit intimidating. Knowing what to expect before you get there can help. Here’s a brief overview of the highlights.
Where do I go when I get there?
Our friendly host team will greet you at the door. They will be happy to guide you and answer any questions that you have. If you prefer to find your own way, feel free to follow our clearly marked signs for our KID’s ministry or to the auditorium.
Is there coffee?
Of course! Come early to enjoy free coffee at our cafe located in the lobby, just inside the main doors.
What is the church service like?
Services are about 75 minutes long. We will sing a variety of styles of music in keeping with Scriptures’ encouragement to sing Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs. There may be some other things we do in a service too, such as a baptism, communion, standing to read Scripture together or hearing a story of how God is working in someone’s life. The sermon is about half an hour long. Our teaching pastor understands the importance of preaching messages that are grounded in the Bible. Messages aren’t designed just to inform. They provide practical ways to apply Biblical truths to our everyday lives. With this in mind, sermon highlights are visible on a projection screen, and we provide a note taking sheet, making it easy to review the main points of the message throughout the week.
What’s available for kids?
During our Sunday morning services, children birth through 3rd grade, have an incredible discipleship program designed especially for them in our KIDS ZONE. A host member will be glad to help direct you to that.
For children 4th grade and up, we provide a special interactive note taking sheet. Our Sunday morning power point has an “I Spy” feel, where kids fill in a blank when an icon comes up on the screen. This helps families worship together and learn together! The kids’ notes have additional comments for parents to help them connect the dots of learning, throughout the week.
What should I wear?
At EBC, our goal is to provide an opportunity for you to worship God, hear from Him and enjoy being in the company of others. There isn’t a dress code and most people dress casually. Some choose to wear a jacket or tie. It’s really personal preference. You’ll see a variety of styles. Just be yourself and dress so you will be relaxed and enjoy the experience.
If you have any questions after the service, we invite you to stop by the Connect Desk in the lobby. You’ll meet an EBC host there who can answer your questions and provide you with resources from our various ministries including a welcome gift if you’re visiting with us for the first time! We hope to see you soon.
